About the MSME EMD Exemption Request
Registered Micro and Small Enterprises can be exempt from paying Earnest Money Deposit in government bids. On GeM, sellers usually claim this by uploading their Udyam certificate along with a request or declaration, where the bid calls for one.
Enter your Udyam number and bid details to create a clear request letter. Keep it with your certificate when you participate in the bid, and make sure your Udyam details are verified on your GeM profile.
Printing on your own letterhead
Choose Printed letterhead and set the space from the top so the text starts below your company header. Put your letterhead in the printer, select Actual size (100%) in the print window, and test on one plain sheet held against the letterhead before using the real thing.
If you have your letterhead as a file, choose Upload letterhead instead, so the PDF is ready to upload to GeM with your header already on it.

Eligible Micro and Small Enterprises and startups recognised by DPIIT can be exempt, subject to the bid terms. The exemption generally applies to the items covered by their registration.

Generally not. The exemption is for Micro and Small Enterprises, so this letter only offers those categories.
Are traders eligible for MSME EMD exemption?
Traders are generally outside the MSE procurement policy benefits, so this letter is for manufacturers and service providers. Check your bid terms before claiming it.
What documents do I need?
